The WP Store store chain has recently celebrated its 30th anniversary in Florence within the June 2015 edition of Pitti Uomo. On this occasion, WP Lavori/Work In Progress, the Bologna company behind the WP Store retail chain, launched its “30th Anniversary BlueBlack Collection”, a selection of 20 exclusive limited edition products, in collaboration with the 18 brands which have been part of WP’s 30-year-long story, focused on scouting of traditional and forward thinking apparel brands.

The brands which participated in the project are: Woolrich, Woolrich Woolen Mills, Barbour, Baracuta, Spiewak, Paraboot, Palladium, Blundstone, Beams+, Engineered Garments, Nanamica, New Amsterdam by Mark McNairy, Barena, Avoncelli, Kenneth Field, BD Baggies, Bags in Progress and Let me See. Each of them has created an exclusive iconic product in a palette of blues and blacks for the “WP 30th Anniversary collection”. The capsule collection will be distributed exclusively in WP Stores, through selected international concept stores, such as Merci in Paris, and through their own e-commerce website.

WP Store opened its first store in Bologna in 1985 and set the course for a completely new aesthetic, for the first time offering a platform for picking new brands and ideas and a concept store where clients could purchase stylish, unique and high quality products. After 30 years, the 12 WP Stores – ten in Italy, one in New York and one in Seoul - continue to embody the same values as in the days they were created and have become synonymous with the WP Work in Progress culture.

To launch the collection, WP has collaborated with Inventory Magazine to create a brochure and further launched a website. Also part of the celebration are three art pieces created by cartoonist Filippo Scozzari, who had collaborated with WP during the 1980s. He illustrated three exclusive pieces relating to the brand’s three major markets - Europe, USA and Asia.
