Workshop New York (, the fashion trade show that spotlights international cutting-edge women’s ready to wear and accessory brands, announced January 7 that the February show will not take place this season.

The cancellation of the February show was due to a plethora of changes in the scheduling of New York Market Week, and the final decided dates conflicted with a previously scheduled event at Workshop New York’s planned venue, The Metropolitan Pavilion.

"Workshop is first and Foremost dedicated to maintaining our high standards… After much consideration, the Workshop team determined that under the current conditions our only choice was to postpone the February show," said Laurence Marc, CFO, Workshop Salons.

Workshop New York is scheduled to run in September 2004 as planned, and the company is working within the fashion industry to try and establish a more proficient method of scheduling New York Market Week so this conflict does not repeat itself in the future.

Workshop New York is produced by Workshop Salons, which also produces Workshop Paris and Workshop Tokyo. The latter show is part of Japan’s International Fashion Fair.
