With an approximate total of 31,000 visitors, the Who’s Next show (www.whosnext.com) in Paris, held January 28 to 31, drew 2% more people than in January 2004 and even 11% more than last September. This confirmed its position as a leading show in the trend fashion segment its management said.

Still, with two-thirds of guests coming from France the show appears to be a rather regional event. The majority of foreign visitors came from Italy (19%) while Japanese visitors accounted for the largest non-European share (9%) of visitors.

About 500 brands presented their latest collections in the three halls. The Fresh and Fame area housed more ambitious and New Luxury labels such as Da-Nang, American Retro, Monica, It and Antik Denim. The Fast and Dome area provided space for established urban-, street- and jeanswear brands such as Onitsuka Tiger, Le Temps des Cerises, Nudie and FUBU.

Exhibitors and visitors both were satisfied with the show. In some booths orders were written but generally retailers took the chance to take a look at the collections and to make appointments. "For us it is quite a good fair, we meet a lot of our French customers in Paris," said Gil Richardiere, owner of French denim brand Le Temps des Cerises.

The next Who’s Next will take place in Paris September 2-5, 2005.
