Vietnam will host Denimandjeans.com Vietnam, a new trade show focusing on the denim market. It will take place in HCMC (Hồ Chí Minh, former Saigon) the biggest city in Vietnam, on 16 and 17 June 2016 and will gather some of the most reputed local and international mills and supply chain partners. The show will be held at the Gem Centre – a beautiful and unique location characterized by its wood architecture.

Vietnam is a growing apparel exporting country. It presently counts as the fourth largest exporter of apparel after China, Bangladesh and Hong Kong. This country might soon benefit from TPP and Free Trade agreements with the EU, once agreements are signed, and may attract many apparel companies around the world in years to come.

“Vietnam has around 4,000 garment factories employing about 2.5 million workers,” commented Deputy MoIT Minister Tran Quoc Khanh. “Garments and textiles are one of the core benefits for us with the TPP agreement.”

Increasing by approximately 19 per cent, compared to 2013, Vietnam’s textile and garment exports have reached USD 24 billion, according to the largest textile group in Vietnam – Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex). Denim is a growing segment of apparel sourced from Vietnam and is likely to witness significant growth in coming years.

The show is organized by the same organization that is behind Denimsandjeans.com Bangladesh, another denim focused show held in Dhaka since March 2014 and a platform recalling denim industry insiders in this region, operating through teams in India and Bangladesh.

Organizers expect Denimandjeans.com Vietnam shall also serve as a platform for this area’s sportswear supply chain industry.
