Uniqlo plans to expand in the Belgian market by opening a store in Antwerp in fall 2015. Antwerp is the first city of Flanders, the second biggest city in Belgium after Brussels and a renowned fashion capital with a vibrant cultural scene.

“We are pleased to announce our decision to open a first Uniqlo store in Belgium, in the city of Antwerp, which is the centre of the Belgian fashion industry and home to MoMu (Mode Museum), the renowned fashion museum,” commented Berndt Hauptkorn, CEO, Uniqlo Europe. He added: “Uniqlo stands for high quality, versatile and affordable clothes for people of all ages and we believe both residents and visitors to Antwerp will truly appreciate our offering.”

In Europe, Uniqlo operates 23 locations across four markets (by end October 2014) – the UK, France, Russia and Germany. The Japanese brand opened its first store in Berlin in April 2014. In the same year it increased its expansion operations in France by opening Uniqlo in Les Marais in April, in Marseille in May and another store to be inaugurated in Strasbourg on November 14.
