2010 marks the 30th anniversary of revered accessories designer Ally Capellino. A range of commemorative events will be unveiled throughout the year, kicking off with an exhibition held at the ultra hip establishment that is The Wapping Project in East London. Bags from Capellino’s latest collections are showcased alongside archival additions and a string of vintage pieces that have inspired Capellino’s work in the past. Serving as the focal point of the exhibit, an eye-catching wall of bags has been installed by the art director Rupert Blanchard. Enter a “secret” door within the wall of bags to discover a small room that conveys the story behind the brand as told via a selection of archive clothing, images and video footage. The exhibition is set to run through June 6, 2010.
