The specialized denim-focused trade show is ready for its comeback in Paris for its next edition taking place on 2 and 3 November, 2016, at PEC-Paris Event Center, at 20 Avenue del La Porte de la Villette in Paris. The show will present previews and directions from the denim, casualwear, textile and accessory market for s/s 2018.

“For this new edition we want to set a new beginning and give this show, beyond its focus on the culture of denim and its innovations, our commitment to sharing and understanding all major challenges in denim’s future,” commented Chantal Malingrey, director, Denim PV.

The show’s new 10,000 sq. meter location has already hosted some fashion shows and events in the past, but never any international trade show before. For this special “bash” Denim PV will present a completely redesigned trend area placed near the entrance aimed to recreate an imaginary department store that presents different “stores” showing five different product selections and key themes that will characterize the future evolution of the market. “We chose specific themes as we want to support our visitors with ideas that help them boost their sales,” continues Malingrey. Themes of the five stores of this trend area will be transparency and lightness, pureness and cleanliness, color, random graphics and uneven surfaces.

Opposite this imaginary department store of the show will also host its first “Premium Vintage Market” originating from a collaboration with Denim Boulevard, a specialized Italian denim trade show that runs annually. The area will present a selection of authentic vintage garments presented according to outfits and visual merchandising solutions, always in-keeping with what Malingrey underlined referring to the show’s stronger commitment in giving visitors more ideas and present strong selling topics to the final consumer. Premium Vintage Market will offer workwear, military and civilian range products selected by Denim Boulevard and available to be purchased by visitors.

In this same area the show will also launch “Share & Shake – The Denim Session”, a new initiative born from a collaboration between Denim PV and Sportswear International. The program will host four interactive 45-minute formats that will present key industry insiders’ future visions on these topics.

On 2 November, Session 1 will focus on “Beyond stretch - The composition of the perfect denim” discussing the latest innovations in fibers, technologies and treatments. On the same day, Session 2 will concentrate on “...and in the end what does Generation Z expect?” aimed at learning what Millennials expect from denim.

On 3 November, Session 3 will examine “Smart creation – experience the unknown and unexpected facets of denim” presenting what makes a textile smart. Also scheduled for the same day, Session 4 is focusing on “Winning ideas for denim branding” examining how branding can bolster and steer a medium and high-range denim brand.

Denim PV will also host a conference aimed at presenting key trends for s/s 2018. Among key trends the show’s creative team has recognized a new pink cast of blue, a softer variant of most renowned red cast of past decades, two new fitting– the kimono wrapping and more belted products – and many new variants of denim dresses for women.

This show edition will host about 80 exhibitors, similarly to their previous November 2015 edition. Out of its total exhibitors, 58% are weavers, 18% accessory makers, 12% launderers and finishers, 3% fiber manufacturers and another 9% from different side activities. “We got a very good feedback from our exhibitors and visitors after we took the decision to return to Paris,” commented a satisfied Chantal Malingrey, director, Denim PV. “Among companies that already confirmed their visit to our show we already got answers from Guess, Gap, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren and also expect more visits from designer brands showing that we took the right decision moving back to Paris. And not less important, being here in Paris again offers us a great opportunity as we are getting ready to celebrate Denim PV’s 10th anniversary happening in 2017,” she added, implying that other bright new projects will be further developed.
