Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, the immense sourcing trade show taking place in the second most populous city in China, finished its latest edition on October 13, with a similar number of exhibitors than last year: the three-day platform attracted 4,553 exhibitors from 29 countries, with Malaysia, Peru and United Arab Emirates being new entries.
Across a gross area of 260,000 square meters, fabric and yarn producers together with companies dedicated to manufacturing fashion- and lingerie accessory components met 73,000 buyers from 90 countries and regions. These figures represent a roughly 10% increase in comparison to last year.
As usual, Intertextile Shanghai was home again of fashion trade show CHIC, which also registered a positive development in terms of visitors: 65.714 individuals attended the show, 15% more than the prior autumn 2015 edition. The exhibition space was occupied by 837 brands from 21 different nations. A highlight of the show was the Frankfurt Style Award 2016 fashion show.
