Fair Dusseldorf has announced that the next GDS edition will be shifted. As a consequence of last July’s weak show that called for a rethinking of the concept, the fair has decided that the next winter edition should be held closer to the order season of the shoe business. According to this, the GDS will be held in early September 2017, also with a new order of days – from Sunday to Tuesday.

Werner Matthias Dornscheidt, President and CEO of Messe Düsseldorf, confirms this shift as a logical step within the changing and insecure shoe business and the needs of the segment: “In view of the market changes the sector also feels that it is important to have GDS moved closer to the season.”

At the GDS, held from 7 to 9 February, Messe Düsseldorf expects more than 700 brands to exhibit their international collections in the three areas Highstreet, POP UP and Studio. Held concurrently with GDS will be tag it! with approx. 150 exhibitors.
