Tommy Fazio, a respected insider of the US menswear sector, has been named as the new president of the Project trade show and Menswear, which includes the S.L.A.T.E., Street and MAGICMens sections of the biannual MAGIC Marketplace in Las Vegas.

Tom Florio, CEO of Advanstar Fashion Group, which owns the MAGIC and Project shows, made the announcement.

Fazio will assume his new position on October 29, 2012 and will be based in New York. Prior to accepting his new title, he served as men’s fashion and trend director at Nordstrom. Before that he was president at the menswear line Simon Spurr, men’s fashion director at Bergdorf Goodman and vice president of men’s collections at Calvin Klein.

“With Tommy onboard we hope to create partnerships that reestablish men’s fashion week in New York and continue to create new business opportunities for our community of retailers and brands at Project,” said Florio.

Project was launched in 2003. Featuring menswear and womenswear, it is held twice a year in New York and Las Vegas.
