Thread (, a US-based shopping and lifestyle event for independent fashion, will return to Bristol for its second outing on December 10. After a successful first-ever show there in October that drew more than 1,000 people, Thread will return for one day only.

The show will feature about 60 young designers and independent boutiques from the US and UK who will present mens- and womenswear collections, accessories, shoes and jewelry.

Consumers can directly purchase fashion items at the show for up to 75% off retail prices but store owners and buyers also are encouraged to attend and discover new talent.

In addition to fashion, the show will feature live DJs, massages, cocktails and goody bags for the first 250 people there.

Lara Matthews, a native of England, started Thread in 2003 in San Diego, California. Her brother Alex helped her bring the concept to Bristol in October.

The next edition of Thread San Diego will be held at that city’s cruise ship terminal on December 3. Forthcoming shows include editions in Bristol, San Diego and Seattle, Washington in March and June 2007.
