Tomorrow marks the long anticipated launch of The Mobile City, possibly one of the coolest books on youth culture by youths as part of a competition spanning the Atlantic, in Toronto. The project/competition, held from Feb. 15 to May 15, was designed to provide “at-risk” urban youth in Milan and Toronto with a platform to share their vision and insights about urban life through the use of digital photographs posted to photo galleries on The Mobile City website. Spearheaded by the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Toronto, the project quickly gained the support of the City and Province of Milan under the artistic supervision of the Museo di Fotografia Contemporeanea in Milan. Juries in Milan and Toronto selected 30 finalists, from which ten winners in each city were picked and awarded a trip to their “sister” city to expand their portfolio and take part in a group exhibition. While the exhibition in Toronto was held earlier this summer in July, Milan is due to stage its exhibition next month.

At George Brown School of Design, 230 Richmond Street East, 6-9 pm.
