Sock company Stance opened the doors to its first stand alone store in New York City in heart of SoHo. Located at 510 Broadway, the 185 square meter store features Stance’s casual and lifestyle collections as well as their NBA line and their recent collaboration with singer Rihanna, a holiday collection which is prominently displayed within the store.
The store is located in a 100 years old house, for a reason: “When first scouting locations for our flagship store in New York, we wanted to find a building with character in a neighbourhood that combined art, fashion and street culture, while paying homage to the local heritage,” said Dan Levine, EVP Brand Development and Retail at Stance Socks.
Stance connects design with technical innovation, offering shoppers the opportunity to use an in-store iPad to design their custom pair of socks. Through a glass panel in the floor, customers then are also able to watch their custom socks get made.
The store combines free-standing fixtures, recycled floorboards and wooden features with floor-to-ceiling portraits of Stance’s punks & poets, highlighting the brand’s connection to music and art.
