Last week, the Vitrashop Group and its partner Serviceplan presented in Munich their vision of how retail might look like in the near future. A Bogner test shop has been installed in the Haus der Kommunikation to demonstrate the new technologies and possibilities in real live. The shop is not accessible for public, but can be visited by interested companies.

The main topic was the integration of the benefits of online buying at the POS. So the shop window can react on passing by customers having activated the shop app by showing a personalized “hello” to the person and personalized offers. The changing room is also able to identify the products in the cabin and can start showing more information about these products. In a further step, the mirror is able to change the colors of the worn products, so the customer sees them matching to his skin without changing the clothes.

A cashier is not necessary any more. The paying process is done with the mobile phone app, too, where decisions about delivery can also be made.

As a result from the event, the partners were stressing the importance of taking the current e-commerce developments into account to stay competitive to the ubiquitous and convenient online shopping solutions. Their aim was to offer an innovative retail vision, that is taking the benefits of online buying – which is daily use today – to the POS.
