Boat shoes have become an all-time classic in men’s wardrobes – whether one has entered a yacht before or not. Based in New England in Northern USA, shoe label Sebago has been the trailblazer of the modern deck shoe. Still offering the same shoe models as at the very beginning of the brand’s success story, Sebago celebrates its 70th birthday this year.

Just as before, every Sebago shoe pays homage to the long-standing tradition and knowledge about the construction and production of handmade shoes as well as to the so-called New England Lifestyle. The first leathern boat shoe, the distinctive Dockside, has been manufactured in 1948. Just twenty years later, the shoe was well-known all over the world and during the 1980s the Docksides even became a fashion trend at universities and high schools across the whole country.

Today, Sebago of course sells a far greater range of shoes such as the models Spinnaker, Beacon, Dolphin or Classic, and to round this offer up the brand also has a great selection of nautical-inspired women’s shoes.
To celebrate its birthday, Sebago now re-interprets its old classics. The Docksides’ 70th Anniversary Collection comes in cheerful and festive colors like lime green, orange, dark blue, white and pastel tones. In addition, the brand launched Docksides Neoprene, a collection of Docksides made from Ariaprene, a colorful, light-weight and hypoallergenic material in different colors. Prices vary from €109,90 to €139,90.
