Under the title “Ispo Sport & Style,” ispo producer Messe München GmbH has announced a new concept for this summer’s event. Instead of trying to showcase the entire sports business as it did in former years, the new concept will focus on growing markets such as sports style and sports-inspired fashion.

“With Ispo Sport & Style, we are acting in the interests of current market developments,” says Manfred Wutzlhofer, CEO of Messe München GmbH. “Sports retailers gain growing turnovers in textiles and fashion, not in hardware, and there is no platform which covers the sports style segment as a whole.”

The segments of the new concept will be called Ispovision, Sportsstyle, Performance and Trends & Innovations. The self-contained areas for tennis and in-line skating have been canceled.

Ispovision will focus on the premium segment with exhibitors such as Bogner and Matador. The new area Sportstyle will be the strongest segment of the platform and showcase beach and surf, golf, casual outdoor, fitness, street couture and retro style. The Performance area will concentrate on traditional sports such as running and team sports while Trends and Innovations will feature young innovative brands and products.
