For 2009 the two young brands Sting and Yamamay are gearing up for a global launch of an exclusive line of sunglasses. Sting, the youngest brand owned by the Italian manufacturer De Rigo, is collaborating with Italy’s Yamamay’s style department, which specializes in lingerie, pajamas and swimwear. The forthcoming collection includes three styles that are named after the famous beaches of Ipanema, Goa and Venice. The sunglasses, also available in four colors, pick up the same prints as Yamamay’s swimwear line to create a complete look. The collaboration is based on the findings of a market survey, which highlighted a similarity in the values and target audience of the two brands. The Sting for Yamamay project includes special packaging and is to be launched in late March 2009, and will be available through a select network of opticians and all leading Yamamay stores in Italy and abroad at the retail price of €79.
