This year the Swiss Textile Federation will present its international fashion prize, the Swiss Textiles Award, for the 10th time in Zurich on the occasion of the Stella Contemporary Fashion Award ceremony.

On Nov. 12, 2009, the competition’s six finalists from all over the world will convene at the Schiffbau. As in previous years, the winner will be chosen by an international jury on the show evening. In addition to creativity and innovation, finalists will be judged on the marketability or commercial potential of their collections. New members are appointed to the international jury every year. Lisa Feldmann, Chief Editor of the lifestyle magazine Annabelle, will take over as chair of the jury this year.

The prize, worth €100,000, has given a career boost to many former winners. The Swiss Textiles Award fashion promotion prize was launched in 2000 and has been presented annually ever since by the TVS Swiss Textile Federation. Initially, the focus was on Swiss designers, but the award went international in 2002.

This year’s finalists are Erdem (UK), Alexis Mabille (FRA), Ohne Titel (USA), Thakoon Panichgul (USA), Peter Pilotto (UK) and Alexander Wang (USA).
