Russia’s Ski and Board Salon, the annual trade show for sports, tourism and mountain-skiing complexes, will celebrate its 15th anniversary in Moscow on Oct. 31.

Held at Gostiny Dvor, the trade show, which runs through Nov. 2, will feature a grand opening ceremony and traditional action sports, including ski-mountain and rock-climbing contests. An ice-climbing contest has also been added to the roster. Side events focusing on the business of action sports will round out the show, including panels on the economic and technical development of mountain-skiing resorts in Russia in time for the 2014 Winter Olympic games. Those discussions will take place at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Since its launch the Ski & Board Salon has been responsible for the progression of Russia’s sports market in clothing, equipment and accessories. Last year the market saw a 20-30% growth in sales volumes over the previous year.
