Touch!, neoZone and cloudnine, the Pitti Immagine salons for the women’s collections organized in Via Tortona in Milan Sep. 24-26, 2011, closed yesterday with  positive results,  both in terms of visitors and quality of the presented fashion content. During three days of intense work for the exhibiting companies with a total of 182 collections and attendance by over 8,075 buyers and press, Touch! neoZone and cloudnine attracted 9,400 visitors altogether. The shows registered a +15% in overall attendances and +20% in visitors from abroad. Visitor numbers from buyers from Japan grew by 56%, Germany by 47%, Russia by 56% and doubled for South Korea, China and Turkey and impressive numbers also coming from France, UK and The Netherlands.

“We have achieved excellent results this edition,” commented Agostino Poletto, Vice General Manager Pitti Immagine. “The increase in foreign buyers confirms that our shows have become an international focal point for the most astute buyers to research products and innovations. Over 40% of the brands at this edition, from a total of 182 brands, were new names. As always, we also paid great attention to upcoming brands, to young designers with their first collections, to whom we attempt to give wider visibility with specific projects.”

Underlining the support of new talents, another initiative debuting at the salons was Not Just A Label. For the first time in the nearby NHow Hotel in Zona Tortona, organizers hosted eight emerging designers participating in Not Just A Label, an online platform for showcasing and supporting pioneers in contemporary fashion featuring about 6,000 emerging brands. The eight selected designers were: Angela Bang, Eleanor Amoroso, Fanny and Jessy, Howitzweissbach, Juliaandben, Pedro Pedro, Reality Studio, Veronica B. Vallenes. Not Just A Label and Pitti Immagine share a common belief in scouting new talents in fashion, thus pushing the boundaries of new online media.
