Nine-time Grammy award winner and internationally acclaimed singer/songwriter, Sheryl Crow, today announced plans to collaborate with Western Glove Works on a collection of denim based apparel under the singer’s newly formed lifestyle brand Bootheel Trading Co. Western Glove Works is one of the largest designers of denim products in North America and manufactures the Silver Jeans, 1921 and JAG Jeans brands.

“I’m thrilled to partner with such an exceptional denim manufacturer as Western Glove Works. Being an avid denim aficionado, it’s a pleasure to partner with a team that will offer a quality line of jeans that are just as accessible to consumers as my music,” says Crow. “The WGW family has shown a dedication to the craft of making high quality jeans for the past 86 years. It is this commitment to making the very best apparel that will bring the Bootheel Trading Co. collection to life.”

“We are honored to be working with Ms. Crow on the Bootheel Trading Co. brand,” says Michael Silver, president of Silver Jeans /1921 and partner in Western Glove Works. “Ms. Crow’s appeal, not only as a supremely talented musician and inspirational woman but also as an American icon, will bring an element to the brand that we believe is unique in the marketplace. Her vast accomplishments are rooted in the same place from which we create jeans: honesty, quality and good old-fashioned hard work. We look forward to a long term partnership with her.”

The debut collection, which will bow for Fall 2008, will comprise a selective offering of mid-priced jeans, denim jackets and tops evoking a vintage Americana aesthetic, reminiscent of Crow’s distinctive style.

Bootheel Trading Co., a moniker that nods to the region of Missouri in which Crow grew up, was created by the songstress in conjunction with Los Angeles-based business development consultancy Brand Sense Partners. The Bootheel program will encompass one-of-a-kind offerings of affordable, fashionable, and cause-minded products to mainstream consumers.
