Pop star Rihanna has won a lawsuit against British retail chain Topshop. Rihanna sued the fashion enterprise for €3.77 million, for using a picture of the singer as a t-shirt print without her approval.

The employed picture shows Rihanna during a video take in Northern Ireland. She claims that it resembles one of her CD covers and could therefore be confused with official merchandise by her fans.

Topshop highlighted that they had purchased the rights for the picture through a photographer and claimed to therefore obtain the right to use it for commercial matters.

In the end, the judge decided in favour of Rihanna, finding Topshop guilty.
