According to a report by SPORTSWEAR INTERNATIONAL’s sister publication TextilWirtschaft, Topshop is finally opening its first own German store in the Oberhausen-based shopping mall Centro. TextilWirtschaft is referring to “usually well-informed circles” to have confirmed the opening of a combined Topshop and Topman retail store within former H&M premises for October.
Topshop has approached the German market in various ways but never by the retailers’ supreme competency, own brick-and-mortar stores. Right now, Topshop is only available in Germany via an exclusive brand shop on Zalando plus a few shop-in-shop spaces in high profile department stores such as KaDeWe Berlin. Moreover, Topshop might soon be available in selected Galeria Kaufhof stores.
In February 2015, the British fast fashion retailer opened its first-ever flagship store on continental European grounds in Amsterdam.
