The next MAGIC Marketplace, August 17-19, will showcase one of the largest brand assortments in years, reflecting new momentum for the industry.

“With a 25% increase in retailer registration, significantly increased square footage and hundreds of new stores planning to attend, the August 2010 MAGIC Marketplace will show that the industry is enjoying a solid revival, and that brands and buyers are once again confirming that MAGIC is the place to be,” said Chris DeMoulin, MAGIC International President and Executive Vice President of Advanstar’s Fashion Group. “The show floor will be an amazing reflection of all the exciting growth we are seeing.”

One example is The Indigo Gallery, a newly dedicated denim area at Premium, that will house some of the industry’s top brands, including Lucky Brand Jeans, Girbaud, Ami Jeans, Justing Jeans, Yaso, M.O.D, CMT and Twice.

Street Unlimited also will grow in size, with the addition of several new MMA brands, including Ecko Unltd. MMA, Jaco Clothing, Form Athletics, Untamed Industries LLC and Affliction Athletics (X-treme Couture, Throwdown). The sport will come to life on and off the show floor, with UFC ring sparring and training in Street and the World Extreme Cagefighting Title Fight, featuring Cruz vs. Benavidez, held in conjunction with MAGIC at The Palms Casino Resort on August 18.

Meanwhile, S.L.A.T.E. will return for a fourth season, with the likes of Stussy, 10 Deep Clothing, LRG, Crooks & Castles and Obey, and several newcomers including DGK and The Hundreds. WWDMAGIC will host a fashion retrospective curated by WWD of iconic images from its archives as part of its centenary celebrations. And WHITE, the better-to-bridge area, will nearly double in size this season with exciting additions such as Dina Bar-El, Tadashi Shoji, Sue Wong, Aidan Mattox, Basix Black Label, Lauren Vidal, Carilyn Vaile, Didier Parakian and Suzanne Somers. In support of her new line of handbags, actress Vanessa Williams will make a guest appearance.

Finally, FN Platform will host more than 1,000 brands covering women’s, men’s, juniors and children’s footwear. For its sophomore run, visitors will be treated to a retrospective of Robert Clergerie designs as well as an opening night interactive party with professional poker lessons, arcade games, food and drinks.
