Quiksilver Europe is launching a new collaboration concept under the name of Quiksilver Culture. Every year, Quiksilver Europe will collaborate with a new designer who will create a small capsule collection for concept retail distribution. For the first season, Quiksilver is launching a unique collection directed by one of the most important fashion influencers in Japan’s street scene, Takashi Kumagai, who is best known for his work for the Tokyo bag label Porter (www.yoshidakaban.com).

For Quiksilver, Kumagai put together a collection that is modern and colorful, with references to classic American workwear. “Neo Oldies” is the theme of the collection, with inspirations from surf culture from the ’70s and ’80s. The first drop in May of the capsule collection includes jackets, walk shorts, T-shirts and shirts for men only, as well as a special collection of products created in collaboration with Porter on two bags, the Yoshida Boston Bag and the Yoshida Day Bag. Shorts cost €90 at retail, while jackets run up to €230.

The Quiksilver x Takashi Kumagai collection is currently available at Colette, Paris.
