Outdoor clothing brand Patagonia has restructured its European team through a series of new hires and internal promotions, aiming to strengthen the company’s presence in the region. In the sales front, Patagonia has appointed Gianluca Pandolfo as European sales director, who will be responsible of the wholesale business. He was previously working at The North Face as outdoor category sales director EMEA.

Alex Weller, before EMEA brand communications director at Converse, has been recruited by Patagonia as European marketing director. Weller will take care of marketing across all distribution- and communication channels. Reporting to him, Alberto Zanini has also been hired as European visual merchandising manager. His previous experiences at The North Face and Vans are linked to the graphic design and visual merchandising areas.

Besides, Mihela Hladin comes on board as environmental and social initiatives manager, a role that comprehends all activities driven to reduce the business environmental footprint plus conduct- and develop Patagonia’s support program for environmental groups in Europe.

Finally, Andreas Tomasini, prior country manager Italy within the outdoor brand, will take responsibility for retail in Europe. Among his tasks are the development of a strategic concept for the upcoming retail activities in this region, overlooking of business proceedings in stores and supporting tasks for product- and assortment planning. Tomasini’s previous role as Italian country manager will be taken over by long-time Patagonia employee Fabio Zardini.
