Prêt À Porter Paris is launching a new showcase to kick off the summer fair season called Before By July.

Coinciding with Paris Couture Week and scheduled to run Jul. 5-7, the show will offer a preview of the September edition’s offerings and host approximately 150 labels at Pavillon 4 of Parc des Expositions at Porte de Versailles.

“Every fair has its reason for existing,” explained Jean-Pierre Mocho, President of Fédération Française du Prêt-à-Porter Féminin, “and Before by July constitutes a ‘preview’ for established brands that want to be active from the moment of the launch of their collections at the beginning of July, with the right, strong products.”

The September edition of Prêt À Porter Paris runs from Sept. 4 to Sept. 7.

In the meantime, the highly influential show has confirmed its lineup for its January show. Prêt À Porter Paris, which runs from Jan. 30 through Feb. 2 and attracted over 44,000 buyers almost a year ago and approximately 1,500 brands, promises a simpler layout for the F/W 2009 season based on three key universes: “Fashion and Accessories” offers “So Easy,” hyper feminine fashion at an accessible price, and “So Magic,” labels of renown and image, while “Creative” comprises “Atmosphère’s” (avant-garde designs), “The Box” (accessories) and “Creative By” (commercial, accessible and creative brands). The third, “New”, offers “So Sweet” for the plus-size segment, “Link.Fr” for creative mid-market and upscale labels that deliver in 60 days, “So Ethic” for luxe, ethical fashion and “Shibuya” for buyers in search of high street fashion.

Prêt À Porter Paris will once again offer a platform for retail services via “So Shop” and “Boutique Performante,” billed as a “box of tools and ideas for multibrand retailers.”
