Despite the difficult economic situation, Prêt à Porter Paris is reporting that it received more than 40,000 visitors in January (a drop of 2 % over the previous year). Of the lot, 58% were French and 42% international buyers from 45 countries. Most of the international visitors came from Italy, Spain, Belgium, UK and Japan to check out the latest international trends in ready-to-wear fashions. Highlights were the accessories collection for Barbie’s 50th birthday, the catwalk shows with actor Diane Bonnot and a graffiti performance by the artist Alëxone. The next edition of Prêt à Porter Paris will be held from Sept. 4-7.
