Denim brand Pepe Jeans (pepejeans.com) have acquired the European license for Andy Warhol-styled apparel from The Andy Warhol Foundation - which holds all copyrights to the artist’s estate - and will introduce a full male and female collection of apparel and accessories for Autumn/Winter 2008.

The Andy Warhol Collection by Pepe Jeans London will feature 250 male and female pieces across Warhol branded denim; featuring printed pocket linings and embellishments, tailored casualwear and a full accessories line meant to sum up the confidence and individuality of the man and his movement. The collection is split into two distinctive segments, Pop and Factory.

Pop finds its inspiration in Warhol’s characteristically vivid prints, such as the famous Campbell’s Soup Cans (1962) and The Two Marilyns (1962), while Factory is inspired by the distinctive personal style of Warhol’s infamous disciples who frequented his New York studio.

A smaller demi-collection will be available in Pepe’s flagship store from May 2008, with the first main collection due in Autumn/Winter 2008.

The Andy Warhol Collection by Pepe Jeans London will debut at a salon show at the Mies van der Rohe Pavillon at 2008’s Bread & Butter trade show in Barcelona this January. The collection will also feature at 2008’s Pitti Uomo in Florence, Italy.
