In honor of its 20th anniversary, Candie’s, Inc. which manufactures and licenses Candie’s footwear, and designs, licenses and markets Bongo Jeans, announced that Patricia Field will be designing a special limited edition Candie’s Collection to be debuted in spring 2005. The collection, which will be called Vintage Candie’s by Patricia Field, will include apparel, footwear, accessories and will be sold in better department and specialty stores, on the Candie's website ( and at Field’s own store, Hotel Venus in New York City.

While most people best know Field as the quirky and creative designer for HBO’s "Sex and the City," Field actually began her career in fashion back in 1966, when she opened her boutique, Hotel Venus.

"Candie’s and Patricia Field have similar characteristics…Candie’s means fun, sexy and fashion and that is what you will see in my collection," Field said of the agreement. Neil Cole, CEO of Candie’s, Inc. said that Field is perfect for the Candie’s brand: "She has an incredible sensibility for the junior consumer and has a great sense of style which was shown by her work on ‘Sex and the City.’"

The new Vintage Candie’s by Patricia Field collection will be marketed through a print campaign, bicoastal launch parties and a fashion show during spring 2005 Fashion Week in either New York or Los Angeles.
