Fashion folks jealous of the online network revolution the music industry has achieved with the help of MySpace.com now have their very own online community: Iqons (iqons.com).

The website officially launched during this month's London Fashion Week in February, although thousands of members signed up during the soft launch over the last couple of months in Paris and New York.

The service is free and everyone is welcome to join – be it a true fashion icon, model, manufacturer, stylist or designer novice. To add some extra depth and authority to the community, actual fashion icons are invited to comment and give advice to selected members. Some of the names coming up in the next few months will include Maria Luisa, Vivienne Westwood, Alber Elbaz and John Galliano.

“I am absolutely delighted that fashion industry pioneers like Maria Luisa, who gave the first breaks to John Galliano and Alexander McQueen, can now spot emerging design stars on Iqons. To have legendary designers such as Vivienne Westwood, John Galliano and Alber Elbaz is the best start we could have dreamed of,” says Rafael Jimenez, co-founder and creative director of the site.
