NYC Textile Week is a new marketing concept to be launched in New York from 19 to 21 January 2015.

Aim of the concept is to establish New York as “the” destination for textile and sourcing professionals in the global fashion, home and related industries. With this aim in mind three established textile and fashion trade shows have realigned themselves and changed dates in order to take place at the same time in the US fashion capital. For January 2015 the three shows involved in the initiative are Texworld USA, Kingpins Show and MRket (global menswear trade show).

NYC Textile Week will debut with a soft launch in January 2015 (January 19 – 21), while a grand launch will happen for July 2015.

“All of the shows are really pleased to be able to get together and coordinate an improvement in the experience visitors have when coming to New York during the show week,” said Andrew Olah, founder of the Kingpins Show and organizer of NYC Textile Week. “Long term, we hope all the shows will want the same thing and exhibit at the same time as the rest of us.”

New York is considered as the American hub for the country’s textile industry – which is one of the nation’s most important employers in the manufacturing sector. With more than 230,000 workers, the textile industry represents approximately two percent of the U.S. manufacturing workforce. The industry, which includes manufacturers of textiles, raw materials, yarns, fabrics, apparel and home furnishings, represents investments of upward of $1.2 billion in total capital expenditures.

Until now, there had been no synergy amongst the textile, sourcing and apparel shows. By joining together and inviting other textile sourcing and wholesale garment shows to participate, NYC Textile Week organizers hope to create even more opportunities for textile and fashion industry professionals to experience New York City.

“Texworld USA is pleased to be one the creators of this exciting new initiative. NYC Textile Week will be the link that ties together all the textile events being held in New York City and will offer a bountiful amount of diverse textile offerings for the attendees that visit from all corners of the globe," commented Dennis Smith, President of Messe Frankfurt and organizer of Texworld USA.

Another partner and co-organizer of NYC Textile Week, is cellulosic fiber manufacturer and chemical specialist Lenzing. “Lenzing is supporting NYC Textile Week to bring the textile and sourcing community together, while authenticating NYC as a global sourcing center,” commented Tricia Carey, USA Business Development, Lenzing.
