Nolcha Fashion Week may soon be making more than just a ripple across the pond. Following the addition of Profile NY, an event dedicated to emerging British designers, organizers have announced a new partnership with Asos, the British online retailer, for its New York event. Asos, which currently stocks over 9,000 products and has an audience of over a million visitors weekly, is said to be talent scouting all week.

Little is still known of Nolcha Fashion Week (NFW), which runs Sept. 8-12 at the Prince George Ballroom on East 27th Street and was created last year by entrepreneurs Kerry Bannigan, a British marketing exec, and Arthur Mandel, a Wall Street attorney. Now in its second year, NFW has attracted the attention of corporate sponsors such as Coca-Cola, Paul Mitchell and the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce.

“To be able to showcase in NYC at a peak time in the fashion industry at an affordable price and in a professional environment is an incredible opportunity for emerging talent,” Bannigan said recently.

Subsequently, Bannigan announced the addition of Profile, a nine-season-old, London-based platform for young designers in the UK to its New York showcase. Owned by Fashion Enter, which already supplies 15 designers to Asos, Profile NY will take place on September 11, also on East 27th Street. Scheduled to show are Alice Palmer, Corcellis, Hemyca, Ismail Erbil, Katasi , La Damsel, Laura Booty, Lorena de la Torre, Maame BaryheLondon, Nkwo, Samantha Mark, Samantha Cole, Shyamoki, Victoria Barban, Zsege in womenswear and Isis Cashmere, Nico Kubisch, Orlebar Brown, Peregrine in menswear.

NFW, meanwhile, is expected to show collections by LanVy, Moss Universe, Quiet Riot, Royal Sunday and Celestino, among many others. The five-day event includes runway shows, networking events and business seminars led by industry experts and fashion business entrepreneurs.
