British brand Ben Sherman has named Ricardo Meyer as its new European sales director.

In his new position Meyer will be responsible for business and expansion in all of Europe, including Russia, and also remain as managing director for Germany. As a result, the brand’s German headquarters in Düsseldorf will expand and become the new European headquarters in the beginning of October.

The company’s main headquarters in London will continue to be responsible for design, sourcing and marketing.

The iconic brand also recently celebrated its first global collection for s/s 2008, which was launched at a big-bang conference and workshop event named "The Decades" in Britain's Mods and Ska stronghold, Brighton. Referring to its history that goes back 44 years the company’s collection named Black and Orange focuses on the five decade s of Ben Sherman’s history. The 220 styles for men and 120 styles for women are inspired by the punk look of the '70s, the styles of the Modern Mods of the '60s and the looks of Brit-Pop, Brit-Rock and the ska scene. Every decade’s interpretation is excellently mixed with a new and modern touch. “Our new collection is the sum of the brand’s history which was always closely connected to music,” said Meyer.
