Bruno Collin, editor and founder of the French magazine WAD and former French editor of Sportswear International, is the new creative director of Diesel. Collin will manage a team of internal and external creative consultants for the successful Italian denim and sportswear brand.

“Today, more than ever, I want Diesel to express its DNA in the most creative and innovative way,” said Renzo Rosso, president and founder of the group. “The fashion world has radically changed in the last years and, for this, the creative process needs to innovate. I believe in combining and making different talents collaborate together: designers, stylists, photographers and artists. This is just the beginning of a revolution that will transform the team and all of the brand’s creative processes.”

Collin added: “Diesel is one of the brands I have been following almost obsessively throughout my whole career. My role will be primarily the one of an alchemist and an orchestra director. The energy of this brand simply needs new expression and inspiration channels.”

Diesel Black Gold's creative direction will be kept separate from Diesel. the first women’s collection under the direction of Greek designer Sophia Kokosalaki will debut on Feb. 16 in New York.
