A new independent contemporary trade show is being launched in Atlanta in April to serve the southeastern US market.

Called Trafik (trafiktradeshow.com), the show will showcase men’s and women’s premium sportwear and jeanswear.

The first Trafik show will run at Atlanta’s Mason Murer Art Center on April 7-11 and highlight fall 2005 collections. It will feature 200 brands. Show "extras" will include live DJs, sponsored lounges, a business center and luxury transportation service.

The exhibitors will be chosen by a jury of industry professionals, led by an advisory panel that includes retailers Bill Hallman and Dana Williams, Lucky magazine editor Amy Flurry, stylist Anita Finklestein and television producer Brian Flynn of the TBS show "Movie and a Makeover."

"Trafik answers a need that has long existed in this region. The southeast is filled with over 1,000 directional men's and women's boutiques in search of alternatives to the existing network of shows in the area," says show producer James Costa.

"We developed this show as an alternative for buyers and vendors in search of the contemporary tradeshow experience," he adds. "We are excited to bring the southeast something we all can appreciate."
