The upcoming edition of Munich Fabric Start will take place from 2 to 4 February 2015 in Munich, in the MOC Zentrum and will present previews of fabrics, denim, accessories and trimmings for s/s 2016.

The event will host 900 international specialized companies including manufacturers, printers and textile service providers from 35 countries. The show will present a total of 1,500 collections and expects to welcome about 20,000 international trade visitors, including buyers, designers and product managers working for womenswear, menswear, denim and sportswear brands.

This edition’s main theme will be “Oscillating Identities”, an overtly provoking macrotrend that will play with too large, too wide, too off-the-wall anti-fashion elements to be mixed up with fashion inspiration. The new multifaceted theme will swing back and forth between diverse and parallel cultures, covers, identities, themes and details reflecting many contemporary style and cultural clashes.

The Bluezone, hosted in the adjacent Zenith Halle pavilion, will present the latest denim and sportswear developments, and finishes during MFS’s first two days only (2 and 3 February 2015).

Running under the heading of Denim Extremes, the Bluezone will present the newest developments by 80 specialized insiders including international denim weavers, finishers and washers. Among them there will be denim mills such as Candiani Denim, Calik, Isko, ITV Denim, Lanificio Europa, Orta Anadolu, Tejidos Royo and, returning after some seasons absence, Vicunha Europe. Among most notable newcomers there will be Denim Authority, Industrias Morera Unitin, DNM Textile, Fashion Point and Suryalakshmi Cotton Mills.

Among special guests of this edition there will be Paris-based trend & design studio Monsieur-T., presenting a creative and inspiring platform to highlight the company’s specialized knowledge of denim trends. Monsieur T. operates internationally as a brand design and market evaluation and trend consultant.

Also new will be the denim art exhibit staged by the Nadel & Pen brand presenting highly inspiring examples of tailored, hand-crafted and made in France creations.

ITV Denim will also disclose its newest collaboration with Fashion Ground Academy, Verona-based fashion school. A group of students developed a series of special fabrics in collaboration with ITV and have created own denim outfits that they will present and wear during Munich Fabric Start.
