Panos Sofianos, who left his position as creative director at Tejidos Royo last December has been appointed exhibition manager for Bluezone and new business at the Munich Fabric Start show with immediate effect.

Apart from being in charge of Bluezone – the show-in-show concept of Munich Fabric Start focusing on denim and sportswear – Sofianos will be responsible for the content and conceptual design of the newly established Key House, a 2,500-square-meter area that will host an innovative creative project serving as a link between the two trade fair segments – Fabrics and Additionals. In addition, the denim and sportswear market insider will maintain close contacts with suppliers and brands in order to respond to new market developments.

Few details have been revealed about the Key House project, which will take place at the Kesselhaus and Kohlebunker venues. Trade show visitors can expect an area where “content and design goes far beyond conventional presentation formats.” Wolfgang Klinder, managing director at Munich Fabric Start describes it as “a new, impulse-generating innovation area.” He adds that “at the forthcoming edition of the trade fair exhibitors and visitors can look forward to an optimally designed information project for all exhibition segments.”

“As an industrial designer I consider it my principal task to create optimal presentation and communication conditions for exhibitors and visitors. We will offer a full package of innovative textiles and services encompassing manufacturing processes, trends, new directions and design development, all at the highest level,” said Sofianos about his appointment.

The next edition of Munich Fabric Start will take place from August 30 until September 1.
