Visitor numbers of the recently-closed edition of Momad Metrópolis (8-10 February, 2015), the international textile, footwear and accessories fair in Madrid, have been announced: the event attracted a total of 21,829 buyers, 4% more than last year’s edition. In terms of internationality, one of every ten buyers who visited the trade show was foreign, especially from Portugal, France, Italy and the UK. The most significant rise was seen in the number of professionals from the UK (+140%), Italy (+23%), France (+8%) and the USA (+7%), as well the Czech Republic, Ireland and Lithuania.

Around 1,200 labels from the fields of clothing, footwear, leather goods and accessories participated in the event. Significant names were the Bestseller Group –encompassing Jack & Jones, Vila and Selected Homme, among others- footwear label Buffalo and Danish DK Company, owner of brands like Blend and Gestuz. Altogether, there was a 14% increase of the number of exhibitors, when compared to the previous year.

According to a spokesperson of the fair, this edition took place one week before the 2014 date (14-16 February) to avoid coinciding with well-established footwear show Micam in Milan, taking place on the same days.

The next edition of the Momad Metrópolis is set to take place from 11 to 13 September, 2015, from Friday to Sunday, and will once again run parallel with the jewelry fairs Bisutex, Intergift and Iberjoya. Momad is organized by IFEMA.
