Metro Group, Ebay and PayPal have opened a new omni-channel shop in the Weserpark shopping mall in Bremen (Germany) called The Inspiration Store that will remain open until mid-January 2015. Comprehending a sales area of 200 square-meters, The Inspiration Store embraces a product and brand assortment that will be varied every two weeks, following themes like Christmas and Wellness. Shoppers will find nearly 400 items of eBay traders and Metro Group’s retail brands Media Markt, Real and Galeria Kaufhof for every theme.

The Inspiration Store offers customers three different buying options: direct in-shop purchase; through digital displays in-store and in front of the space; and via computer, smart phone or tablet through www.ebay.de/rpp/pr/the-inspiration-store or www.the-inspiration-store.de.
Purchasing is not only possible with conventional payment methods, but also with mobile phone devices using the PayPal app and the function ‘Check in with PayPal’ or with the PayPal QRshopping app. Goods can be delivered to your home or picked up at the local store.

The Inspiration Store supports stationary trade, making the products available through online- and mobile channels, while online businesses obtain simultaneously a physical platform for selling goods.
According to the participating companies, the objective of the three-month store is to gain insights about omni-channel trade. After that, the experience has to be evaluated. A permanent stationary appearance is not planned.
