Mercedes-Benz is going to end its title sponsoring for New York Fashion Week (NYFW) after the upcoming edition in February 2015. The semiannual event will no longer be known as ‘Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York’, changing its name to NYFW.

‘We can confirm Mercedes-Benz USA is not currently participating as the sponsor of NYFW in September 2015. However, our relationship with fashion is evolving, but not ending […] we plan on supporting fashion well into the future. Globally, Mercedes-Benz supports over 50 fashion engagements in 30 countries,’ so a spokesperson of the company.

For the time being, the intention of the vehicle manufacturer is to continue title-sponsoring in 2015 for the following fashion weeks: Miami, Berlin, Australia and Istanbul.

This is not the only change NYFW has been through recently. As previously reported, the fashion show will have to leave its current venue, the Lincoln Center, by the February 2015 edition, due to legal affairs.
