The Menswear Guest Designer at Pitti Uomo 87, to be held in January 13-16, 2015, will be Marni. In Florence, Marni will present an exclusive fashion show on Thursday 15 January 2015, featuring its men’s collection for the f/w 2015-2016 season. The brand, which recently celebrated its twentieth anniversary, is designed by Consuelo Castiglioni.

“I am very happy that Consuelo Castiglioni accepted our invitation to present the Marni men’s collection on the Pitti catwalk,” commented Raffaello Napoleone, CEO, Pitti Immagine. “The name is one of the undisputed leaders on the international fashion scene, and we have always admired the creativity, elegance and nonconformity that always distinguish its style. Always keeping a watchful eye on the market but never bending to it.”

Hood By Air (HBA) the New York-based cutting-edge luxury label created by Shayne Oliver in 2007 will be the Pitti Special Guest in January to be presented on Wednesday, 14 January 2015.

“I saw their first event two years ago, and ever since then I have been struck by the unique creative process developed by HBA,” says Lapo Cianchi, communications and events manager, Pitti Immagine, “I was also struck by their distinctive way of making each, meticulously styled collection into a strong statement about gender, social class, power and beauty. Multidisciplinary research, roots firmly anchored in underground culture, and the unexpected aspects of certain solutions are all reflected in their fashion shows where performance, music and product define each other.”

The Fondazione Pitti Discovery program will also present “Cloakroom, an original performance” – written and directed by Olivier Saillard and starring Tilda Swinton, renowned actress and style icon.

“After his extraordinary achievement at Vestirsi da Uomo 2011, we are very proud to work with Olivier Saillard again,” continues Cianchi. Saillard is the director of Palais Galliera, Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris, and author/actor of successful performances inspired by the world of fashion. “Here, in Florence, during Pitti Uomo, he will present a refined new piece centered around the garments left in a cloakroom, starring the outstanding Tilda Swinton. It will be a real lighthearted, ironic and chic show.
