Jörg Mayer, founder of sportswear trading company 21sportsgroup has resigned of his position as chief executive to become chairman of the group’s advisory board and leader of the supervisory committee. Mayer founded the firm in Mannheim back in 2011, which owns well-known sports retailer Planet Sports and brands Lakeville Mountain and Max-Q, among other business activities.

There won't be any leadership vacuum: The advisory board has appointed Michael Burk to succeed Mayer as CEO and Dr. Henner Schwarz will be responsible of the finance- and operative business as both CFO and COO. The two leaders are executive directors not only of 21sportsgroup GmbH, but also of subsidiaries Planet Sports GmbH and VR bike GmbH, and will be supported by an experienced management team.
