French/Japanese clothing brand Maison Kitsuné just opened its most astounding store in Tokyo’s district of Daikanyama, a 140sqm retail spot where every single detail is a nod to the Japanese culture.

The new Kitsuné store evokes a traditional Japanese house. Glass walls let visitors see the wowing post and beam wooden construction system from the outside. Everything from the checkered wooden floor up to the building structure pays tribute to Tokyo’s Hotel Okura, opened back in the 1960s. The brand also employed local materials and techniques to build the store staircase and lacquered the tables.

To celebrate the store opening, Maison Kitsuné has also launched a Daikanyama capsule collection featuring an exclusive pattern and woven cotton fabric on a jacket, a sweatshirt, a t-shirt and a tote bag for men and women.
