The Munich Fabric Start Pre Collections show ( with its integrated denim fair Blue Zone, held here September 4 to 6, again boasted increased attendance. A total of 12,600 registered trade visitors came to the M,O,C, and the neighboring halls in Munich — 5% more than last autumn’s edition. Likewise, the proportion of foreign visitors also rose and was nearly 30%. These foreigners primarily came from Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Eastern Europe.

In total, 755 exhibitors showed 1,700 collections for the autumn/winter 2008 season in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Blue Zone, with important international denim producers and finishers such as Isko, Orta Anadolu, Legler and Vicunha, was held in an old industry hall and featured 70 exhibitors, 20 more than last time. New exhibitors there included Nisshinbo Industries from Japan, KG Denim from India, New Junior from Spain and Arvind by Unistyle from Italy. "We really like working here", said Paolo Perico, who works in research and development at Legler S.p.A.

The next Munich Fabric Start will run February 6-8, 2008 as a showcase for the spring/summer 2009 collections.
