New York aims to become “the” destination for textile and sourcing professionals in global fashion from 20th to 24th July, 2015. In addition to textile and fashion trade shows Texworld USA, Kingpins Show and MRket, NYC Textile Week will also host two other trade shows - Liberty Fairs and Milano Unica. Liberty Fashion and Lifestyle Fairs will take place from July,20-22, at Pier 94, as well as Milano Unica New York that will run at Jacob Javits Convention Center, 655W 34th Street.

“We are proud that NYC Textile Week has enjoyed the support of some of our industry’s best shows and are thrilled to have Liberty join our ranks,” said Andrew Olah, founder of the Kingpins Show and organizer of NYC Textile Week. “It is a testament to the sense of collaboration and community that we feel will help propel the apparel industry moving forward.”

"Texworld USA is proud to be one of the founders and participating events of NYC Textile Week. We are also pleased to announce that the international textile fair, Milano Unica will co-locate with Texworld USA at the Jakob Javits Convention Center in New York,” stated Dennis Smith, president, Messe Frankfurt North America. “The addition of Milano Unica to NYC Textile Week will help to further strengthen the diverse platform of textile events being held in New York City and will offer visitors from the US Fashion Industry a vast selection of high quality Italian textile fabrics.”

New York is the American hub for the country’s textile industry – which is one of the nation’s most important employers in the manufacturing sector. With more than 230,000 workers, the textile industry represents approximately two percent of the U.S. manufacturing workforce. The industry, which includes manufacturers of textiles, raw materials, yarns, fabrics, apparel and home furnishings, represents investments of upward of $1.2 billion in total capital expenditures. However, until now, there had been no synergy amongst the textile, sourcing and apparel shows that visit New York bi-annually.

NYC Textile Week will host a launch party on the 20th July at Skylark in the heart of Manhattan’s garment center.
