At the beginning of this week Levi’s presented the new ss’15 collection starting with a little kick-off event in Berlin. Jonathan Cheung, head of design, Levi’s: “The motto was all about going back to the roots - thinking of our identity that shaped us. So San Francisco plays a major role in the collection.”

Basics like denim jackets, denim shirts and wests, longsleeves and sweatshirts form the backbone of the summer collection. Washed-out and faded colors as well as a palette of blues are dominant and can be seen in the basic collection as well as in the commuter collection.

Speaking of the commuter collection, for the s/s ’15 delivery there will also be a commuter women’s line consisting of jackets, tops, bottoms and shorts. Special features for this line are water- and smell resistant apparel and a higher waist on the back on the trousers so that cyclists don’t have to worry while riding their bikes. Another novelty for the commuter collection are shoes, backpacks and bags.

The Levi’s vintage clothing collection is inspired by the bowling culture of the ‘50s and ‘60s. Shirts, bomber-jackets and sweaters are coming in brighter colors like red, yellow and turquoise. Details like bowling pin buttons and embroidered studs round off the collection.

The last collection news might be interesting for all 501 fans. For the upcoming summer season there will be a new model called 501 CT (customed and tapered). The 501 CT has the DNA of the original 501 but comes in an anti-fit with tapered legs for women and for men with the influence of the ‘80s (tapered legs, lower cut crotch). The 501 CT is available in four finishes for women and five for men.
