Italian jeans brand Gas has a new creative director, Yossi Cohen, Israeli designer of Yemeni origins.

Cohen, who has previously worked for international brands and groups including Moncler, Les Copains and Ballantyne, has just designed Gas Edition, a new capsule collection to be sold for f/w 2016/2017.

Aim of the collaboration is to give the Gas brand a unique identity while keeping intact its own denim focused DNA, offering always more denim products. Denim has actually always fascinated Yossi Cohen. The designer considers it as a versatile, universal and eternally young material that can express energy and freedom as it is deeply intertwined within contemporary society evolution.

The new capsule collection offers a selection of man’s iconic pieces interpreted with a twist. A central role, for instance, is played by the army parka, the field jacket, the peacoat and the macro-check jacket—all enhanced with denim detailing. Outerwear is matched with graphic sweatshirts, striped jumpers revealing shirts underneath, knitted trousers and jeans, all raw.

A French allure mixing casual and chic street style distinguishes Gas Edition’s women part. The collection mixes mini lace dresses, maxi coats, striped jumpers, knitted trousers, leather and denim miniskirts. Boyish fabrics live side by side with silk and soft viscose and denim contaminates itself with most unexpected silhouettes.

A preview of the collection—on sale from September—will be offered on the official website, before arriving in Gas Stores.
