Spanish casual clothing brand Desigual has announced retail expansion plans for Spain during 2014, including the opening of their largest flagship store in Barcelona. The new shop will have 3,000 square meters on three different levels and be located on the large Plaça de Catalunya, one of the busiest locations in central Barcelona. All product categories (Womenswear, Menswear, Kids, Accessories, Shoes, Living, Sport and Beauty) will be offered. Desigual plans to unveil the flagship store by the end of 2014.

Desigual plans to kick off 12 new stores in its home country. So far, the brand has already had three openings in Madrid, three in Barcelona and a newly opened store in Tarragona (Catalonia). In addition, the organization wants to expand its “Dshop” presence, branded retail space within multibrand stores. Desigual will have introduced 50 Dshops during the current year. Spain is still the most important market for the label, which accounts for 20% of global sales revenue. In Spain alone, the label runs 95 of its own stores and operates at more than 3,500 points of sale.
