Organizers of Londonedge, the alternative fashion show in the UK, want to push new design talents. For the next show, Feb. 7-9, 2010 at Olympia 2 in London, the show will host the winner of the design competition in Riga, Latvia, that was held in March 2009 during Riga Fetish Fashion Week and sponsored by Londonedge. Anete Dzene beat out five finalists for the top cash prize and the opportunity to show at Londoncentral. Dzene’s range includes women’s ready-to-wear, including skirts, trousers, jackets, blouses, leggings, tops and accessories. Said the designer: “My new collection is manufactured using cotton and silk with colors ranging from shades of green, beige, orange, black and dark red. I have also incorporated rose patterns that were widely seen in 80s fashion.”
